I have found digital storytelling to be one of THE best methods to get students of any age to think and to write. It also comes with an added bonus; students love it, and you will love it too.
If you are taking this session (and I hope you do; it is really fun), please think about an event in your life that had a significant and emotional impact on you. Think about how you would tell this story by beginning with the end then explaining how it happened. If you have some digital pictures about the event, bring them along on your jump drive or email them to yourself so you can access them on the Internet while in the session. If you have some mp3 files of music that could accompany your story, bring them too. I will teach you how to make your story into a movie with your own voice telling the story, complete with pictures and music.
Hope to see you in August. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at cliscow@yahoo.com
